AI artist and filmmaker aratama 璞 has completed an entry to the global AI filmmaking contest
“Escape × Dreamina – Brave New Beginnings,” jointly hosted by Escape.ai and Dreamina.

This contest is an international film challenge that evaluates narrative strength, creativity, and innovative use of AI tools. It calls for narrative works that go beyond explaining events, instead allowing meaning to emerge through the viewing experience itself, leveraging Dreamina’s strengths such as multi-frame consistency and character and style continuity.

This work is a cinematic music video that takes as its central theme the structure through which anger circulates, accumulates, and repeats within human society.

Rather than depicting war or violence directly, the film evokes anger as a sense of impending conflict through atmosphere, rhythm, and subtle distortions of perception.
Thoughts that repeat after losing their cause, emotions that intensify without a clear origin, and structures that continue to move even after being forgotten—
anger is perceived not as a distinct event, but as tension, acceleration, and dissonance.

The visuals and music expand the viewer’s perspective from bodily, intimate sensations to broader scales of nature, the Earth, the cosmos, and a worldview in which all things coexist.
Images of plants proliferating uncontrollably over traces of conflict symbolically suggest that destruction and regeneration coexist beyond human intention.

Music and image are tightly synchronized, with rhythm itself functioning as the driving force of the narrative.
The minimal, repeated lyrics transcend linguistic boundaries through AI-mediated expression, tracing the loops of thought that sustain anger while allowing meaning to be completed within the viewer, and ultimately leaving a single unresolved question.

“Spiraling Anger – 怒螺旋” responds to the theme of Escape × Dreamina’s “Brave New Beginnings” by presenting “rebirth beyond confrontation” and “new beginnings emerging from repetitive emotional structures” as an integrated experience of narrative, visuals, and music.

While incorporating scene construction and visual coherence enabled by Dreamina, the work positions AI-generated imagery strictly as a means of bringing the narrative into being, aiming for a film experience that goes beyond a mere visual showcase.
