  • Deliverables: An AI-generated video (minimum 1 minute) + a presentation (within 4 minutes)
  • Requirements: Must use Party of Monsters by Kiyoshi Hikawa with Tetsuya Komuro; AI tools must be incorporated in the creative process
  • Other Rules: Advance preparation allowed, but final production required on the contest day / Prompt submission required / Tools without commercial licensing excluded

All works followed the official guidelines, with a strict 48-hour limit that heightened the creative pressure and intensity.

👍 Positive Takeaways from Participation

  • An ambitious initiative to use a major artist’s track with official licensing
  • A contest that evaluates AI as “creative expression,” not merely as cost-cutting or simplification
  • A 48-hour production limit that encouraged bold, time-pressured creativity
  • The excitement of experiencing AI creators’ processes in real life, beyond the online world
  • A schedule designed for both learning and networking (including social events and gatherings)
  • An opportunity for AI creators to publicly showcase their works as part of a portfolio

👀 Areas for Improvement

  • The amount of pre-production time strongly influenced the final quality
  • The theme and required track imposed significant creative constraints (many participants added narrative framing to regain freedom)
  • Lack of transparency in judging criteria and scoring (important for creators’ growth and sense of fairness)
  • Heavy emphasis on video polish, while AI-specific innovation, experimentation, or workflow contributions were undervalued or not recognized

📈 Marketing Impact

According to the official account, the original music video for Party of Monsters has surpassed 1.8 million views, generating strong synergy between the contest and the track.
